British and US Opens (golf), pre-1914

The article on "Golf" in the 1988 edition of the World Book Encyclopedia gives champions for The Open Championship beginning in 1914, for the PGA Championship beginning in 1916, for the U.S. Open (golf) beginning in 1914, and for the Masters Tournament beginning in 1934. None of the championships have their own articles. PGA and Masters make sense, since they were started in those years, but were there any significant changes to the two Opens in 1914 that would prompt someone to ignore previous years' events? I don't see anything about 1914 in the US Open, aside from results, and all I see for 1914 in the British Open are results and some tweaks to the qualifying process; I'm left wondering if the editors simply omitted previous years' results for space reasons, but maybe I overlooked something that should be obvious, or maybe our articles are incomplete. I know of no reason why they chose that arbitrary date to start their coverage. Perplexing for many reasons... First there's no difference between the 1913 and 1914 editions of the two Open tournaments to indicate that 1914 was anything special. Secondly, there were historic and memorable tournaments before 1914, the 1913 U.S. Open was one of the sports most memorable, 20-year old local amateur Francis Ouimet, and his ten-year old caddy, came out of literally nowhere to defeat two seasoned pros in a playoff to win the whole thing. You inclination that World Book simply arbitrarily picked 1914 as a cut-off date is likely the best; of course if you want to know what the authors were thinking, you'd have to contact them. But of my knowledge of the history of the sport, and what I can read in relevant Wikipedia articles, 1914 was not significant in any way. --Jayron32 14:50, 24 September 2015 (UTC)

Selling Scripts Outside Of Hollywood

There are other nations that have their own media industries. See Bollywood, Cinema of the United Kingdom, Cinema of Canada, Cinema of Australia, etc. all of which may be interested in English language scripts. You may need to get yourself a local Literary agent who will shop your script around for you. Basically zero film producers will read unsolicited scripts from unknown writers. --Jayron32 17:47, 24 September 2015 (UTC)
