editGerman hit songs from 2014? Shoot, 2004...
edit
I read (somewhere, a long time ago) that the German musical Bonifatius had produced a hit song, a duet between the characters Sturmius and Alrun (then played by Dave Mandell and Leah Delos Santos). The song was a duet, "Wenn das wirklich Liebe ist"--but I cannot find anything on the internet that confirms this. Your help is appreciated! Drmies (talk) 16:53, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
- GfK Entertainment Charts is the music chart of record in Germany. Near as I can tell, this is a searchable database of their charts. You may be able to find it there. --Jayron32 17:51, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
- That settled it pretty quickly. Thanks User:Jayron32. Drmies (talk) 14:05, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- So... how did it go? Was the song you suspected on the charts? When so? I'm kinda curious now myself... --Jayron32 14:09, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- Nada! I must have read about this a decade ago but maybe misremembered, or maybe I read about it in some of the promotional material for the musical--or, of course, it may be the wrong song I'm thinking of... The video from a later production is here. They're putting it up again in Fulda this summer; it was originally done for the 2004 celebrations on the occasion of the 1250th anniversary of Boniface's martyrdom. - I see now I had the wrong date in the header--would that change anything? Different charts a decade before? I've already removed the claim from my manuscript, haha. Drmies (talk) 14:17, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- Not at that date. The German Charts were run by Musikmarkt from 1959 and transferred to their current owner in the late 1970s. 2004 should have been the same as now. --Jayron32 14:31, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you Jayron. Drmies (talk) 14:56, 10 May 2019 (UTC)

- I found nothing in the charts database (searched for title(s), composer, lyricist,...). Outside the charts, I only found the 2005 CD single Wenn das wirklich Liebe ist - Das Liebesduett aus Bonifatius featuring Leah Delos Santos and Yngve Gasoy-Romdal. On Amazon, the first track is titled "Wenn das wirklich Liebe ist (Single Version)" while the last track (out of four) is its instrumental version.
- soundofmusic-shop.de calls the first track "Wenn das wirklich Liebe ist - Popversion". But I don't know whether the "Popversion" appendage is merely contrasting with the instrumental "Playback-Version" or whether it's a recording made to sound "poppier" than the live song on stage, perhaps. No clue, sorry. That's what I found and didn't find. ---Sluzzelin talk 17:15, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- Sluzzelin, thank you so much: this is very helpful! Drmies (talk) 17:45, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
