Goodyear Raincoat Company

Goodyear Raincoat Company: clearly some relation to Charles Goodyear, but was it part of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, or something separate? The photo here is from a shop in the Alaska Building in Seattle in 1911, but the sign says "New York, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Cleveland [etc.]", so I'm a bit surprised that we seem to have nothing on this. Nothing specific, but A brief history of the raincoat credits the invention of rubberised fabric to Charles Macintosh but it was perfected by Thomas Hancock (inventor) who developed vulcanisation at the same time as Charles Goodyear. Alansplodge (talk) 11:31, 26 January 2019 (UTC)

Jmabel: Founded in 1908. I see something on Fold3, but don't have a subscription. In the Atlanta constitution (subscription needed) it says "Beware of the False Goodyears" in an ad for the Goodrich Corporation, and goes on to say that there are many companies that say "goodyear" in their name, but are not actually from Charles Goodyear. age sets, age grades

Did the ancient Egyptians have age sets and age grades?144.35.20.42 (talk) 23:38, 26 January 2019 (UTC)

I strongly doubt whether age sets are at all commonly found in societies at the state level of organization (along the anthropological scale band-tribe-chiefdom-state); a "Life in Ancient Egypt" book I looked at just now mentioned nothing about such a thing. Practically every society has age grades of a sort, at least as far as language terminology goes... AnonMoos (talk) 03:31, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
