editMy old ambition to educate myself in an orderly fashion by reading encyclopedia articles has come alive again. I discovered a fascinating page "Wikipedia: Multiyear ranking of most viewed pages." Therein one can find lists of what I would call the most influential pre-modern people, pre-modern books, etc. I wish that the Films were separated from the TV Series. Another way of measuring influence would be to find the number of times various names are mentioned in Wikipedia: Jesus Christ, Charlemagne, Winston Churchill, etc. Has anyone tracked that? Wikipedia: Most-referenced articles doesn't answer the question of, for example, how many times does the phrase "Winston Churchill" appear in Wikipedia. 2601:248:601:2AF0:891:6E5C:E8D5:86E6 (talk) 16:43, 13 October 2020 (UTC)

- You would actually do an "advanced search": follow this format, changing the search terms as necessary:

Thank you so much! In all my years using Wikipedia, I did not know you could do an advanced search. It's hiding under the magnifier icon. I assume the results number refers to the number of articles that contain the search term, not the total number of times the search term appears. Indexguy (talk) 18:28, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
