This is a well known New Zealand band that have produced several albums. Though no longer performing together, they are an important part of New Zealand music history. -Rikko40 (talk) 02:44, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

  •   Not done I was going to restore this and I have no problem with you creating a new article, but I was slightly concerned at the somewhat promotional tone to the article and I then discovered that it appears to have had substantial parts taken from this page, among others. That makes it a copyright issue (as well as an unambiguous promotion issue, since it was taken from a bio intended to promote the band), so we can't really restore it to the mainspace. Feel free to make a new article if you want, although I will say that you will need to show coverage in reliable sources independent of the band or people representing them. If not, then the page will likely be put up for deletion again in some form or fashion. Just existing as a band and recording albums does not give automatic notability, so we will need coverage like news articles, reviews in reliable sources, and the like. • @Morticiansdaughterr: What article do you need restored? Is it Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Leda Muir (Ledamonsterbunny)? Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:29, 27 November 2014 (UTC)
  •   Not done I'm going to assume that this is what you were asking for. In any case, I'm declining it for two reasons: the first is that the page was written in a tone that could be seen as fairly promotional in tone, as it's at best written from a fan's point of view. The second is that I can't find even a shred of coverage for her on the Internet, so I can't see where she'd ever pass Wikipedia's admittedly very strict guidelines for notability. Aside from that, I am concerned about her reasons for quitting YouTube: she was getting bullied fairly heavily. Given that there's really no coverage out there about her in reliable sources and the page was written like a fan page, I can't really see restoring something that is guaranteed not to pass notability guidelines anytime soon- especially since the person is no longer active, which makes it incredibly less likely that she'll gain that coverage anytime soon. That she apparently wanted to leave the Internet to avoid more bullying just sort of gives me an extra desire to ensure that there are no pages about her that could encourage further bullying (although this is mostly because she's non-notable per Wikipedia's guidelines). • @Jessford18: I'm not automatically saying "no", but I am slightly concerned that there doesn't appear to be any true coverage of this guy out there. I just can't see where he has been the focus of independent and in-depth coverage in reliable sources. The article had plenty of WP:PRIMARY sources, but not anything that could be used to show notability. I'm just worried that even if we restore this, that it'd just end up being rejected again. Can you show where he's gained coverage in any reliable sources? Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:53, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

@Tokyogirl79 Here is some more coverage I found about his new book... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spoilt-For-Choice-Eddie-King/dp/1500166332

I have submitted the IMDB page which outlines his filmography before and now have amazon page too.

Little Buddy and the Screamin' Meatflutes

This page is significant because (1) the band was a precursor to the Art Rock bands of Athens, GA; (2) several of the members are notable for their participation in other significant bands in Athens, GA; and (3) One member ran a recording studio in Athens, GA and recorded hundreds of Athens bands including REM, B-52's, Love Tractor, Vic Varney, John Berry, Kenny Rogers, Vic Chesnutt, Five-Eight, and future members of the John Mayer band, Sugarland, Over the Rhine, and many others. This article is meant to be a historical stub of future articles based around Robbie Collins, his bands and his recording studio. His master recordings are held in the Georgia Room Special Collections of the University of Georgia. -68.230.166.186 (talk) 14:01, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

That's all very nice, but all that matters here is, what criteria in WP:BAND does this band meet to merit an article here?
Not done - this page was deleted in accordance with criterion for speedy deletion A7. If you believe that this decision was made in error, or that significant new information has come to light since the deletion, please contact the administrator who carried out the deletion, user Bearcat (talk · contribs). If you have already done so, your concerns can be taken to deletion review. ~Amatulić (talk) 15:28, 27 November 2014 (UTC)
Indeed. A band is not automatically entitled to an article on Wikipedia just because they existed — the key to getting them over the bar is to actually cite real reliable sources (which the original article didn't) which verify that they pass one or more of the criteria listed at WP:BAND (the original article didn't make any claim that the band passed any of those either). It's certainly possible that the band might actually satisfy one or more of those criteria if the article were written and sourced better than it was, but what gets a band over WP:BAND is not the assertion of notability itself, but the quality of the sources that can be provided to verify the accuracy of the assertion.
And, for that matter, notability is not inherited, so the fact that Robbie Collins might be notable enough for an article doesn't automatically confer notability-by-association on every individual project he was involved in — and since he doesn't even have an article yet, it's impossible for anyone to assess his notability anyway.
So I'd suggest that your best path forward, instead of creating an unsourced article about every individual band Collins was involved in, would be to start off by writing a substantive and properly sourced article about Collins himself, which can mention Little Buddy and the Screamin' Meatflutes without necessarily needing to link to a separate article about them. And then maybe the band can be spun off to a separate article if there's enough sourcing that's specifically about them to properly support one. But he should come first, and then maybe the bands — not vice versa. Bearcat (talk) 21:38, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

Andy Hill, Music Supervisor

Please reconsider the recent deletion of the Wikipedia article about Andy Hill (Music Supervisor). The discussion indicates that the reasons for deletion have to do mostly with the "notability" requirement, and the tenor of the discussion thread further suggests a certain capricious "trollishness" that is troubling. The subject is certainly notable within his field, which is music for motion pictures. Ample references are provided to support the assertion of a Grammy Award win (2000-Compilation Producer, Best Musical Album for Children), and further verification can be found on the site of NARAS and on IMDb. Likewise with the subject's contribution to film music earning 9 Academy Awards (e.g., The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Dick Tracy). I'm not sure what more has to be done within this field for one to qualify as "notable." Comments in the discussion thread such as, "This guy hasn't even done that much" such that the level of maturity brought to these deletion decisions is not as high as the Wikipedia standards require. Happy to discuss this case further. Thanks. Ghostrider51 -Ghostrider51 (talk) 01:51, 28 November 2014 (UTC)

This page is not unambiguously promotiona; as it is purely informative, all of the sources have been gathered from the web, it is unfair that companies (such as BT) can have a Wikipedia page and lesser known companies cannot host a page which will help inform the general public of their growth, success and operations. In addition to this, this page is not an advert the guidelines state "Don't add this tag simply because the material in the article shows a company or a product in an overall positive light or because it provides an encyclopedic summary of a product's features." ("Save page" button below -Kelly Bateman (talk) 12:33, 28 November 2014 (UTC)

Comment: I came on this in the speedy-deletion queue and deleted it, so I will leave your request to another admin to consider; but what you wrote included: "a leading British telecommunications provider... grown from strength-to-strength... owes its success... able to embrace the latest services... maximum flexibility, reliability and functionality at a cost effective price... a winning formula... excellent relationships with its suppliers and customers... "
That is not an encyclopedia article, it is an advertisement, the story the company wants to tell the world. If you think it is "purely informative", either you work for the company (in which case, read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and note that you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use to declare your interest), or you work in advertising/PR and have become so used to marketing-speak that you have got desensitised to it.
Wikipedia requires a WP:Neutral point of view. COI editing is discouraged in part because, with the best intentions, people close to a subject find it difficult to write neutrally about it. JohnCD (talk) 19:11, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
@Kelly Bateman:   Not done. It is clear from your comment "it is unfair that companies (such as BT) can have a Wikipedia page and lesser known companies cannot host a page which will help inform the general public of their growth, success and operations" that you have not understood that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia of human knowledge; rather, you regard it as a publicity platform. Using Wikipedia for that purpose is prohibited, and you don't seem to get that, particularly in light of the puffery you wrote in the deleted draft. As to fairness, we have strict guidelines about what criteria a company must meet (see WP:CORP), and the fact is, many smaller companies don't qualify. Also, please read JohnCD's comment above. ~Amatulić (talk) 19:42, 28 November 2014 (UTC)

  • @Sedaray: I'm restoring it, but with this warning: you will have to pretty much re-write the entire thing from scratch. The entire article is written in such a casual tone that it almost comes across as a promotional article. It's not so bad that you have to TNT the entire thing, but you will need to re-write substantial portions of it. It actually reads like it was something you pulled off someone's official website, meaning that it reads like it is a copyright violation. Since I can't find the original source I'm restoring it, but I'd still highly recommend re-writing it. You will also need better sourcing to show notability, as writing books and being involved with influential people does not automatically mean that he has notability. (WP:NOTINHERITED) You need coverage of Krasilovsky himself as opposed to just a link to a book he wrote. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 08:37, 30 November 2014 (UTC)

We will not, under any circumstances, restore copy-pasted material or provide a copy of same, on the grounds that you still have access to the source you lifted the text from and such text puts Wikipedia in legal jeopardy. You must restart from scratch. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 03:56, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
  • We don't email copies of G12s on the grounds that if they copy-pasted it, they clearly have access to the source(s) the article was lifted from and thus a copy is redundant. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 19:57, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
  • We will not try to put the content of this page on Wikipedia again. We only need this copy to complete our exercise, and we will only use this copy in our exercise. Please send us it's copy, we really need it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mengyu11 (talkcontribs) 08:46, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
  • @Mengyu11: I will email you a copy if you enable email on your account. To do that, click "Preferences" at the top of the screen, and at the bottom of the "User profile" tab enter your email address (which will not be visible to me or anyone) and check the box marked "Enable email from other users". You can submit a new draft on the same topic, but you should make sure that you summarize in your own words what the sources report; don't just copy-paste them. Huon (talk) 13:03, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
I have deleted it once again. I'm less than impressed and would argue for additional consequences if we have to delete any further copyright violations from the same group. Huon (talk) 21:37, 30 November 2014 (UTC)

@Frooloop:   Not done. This is the English-language Wikipedia, but your draft article was in Swedish. Also, most of it was copied from sv:Stefan Löfven, and the remaining part gave no indication that Angelus Ahmed Amin is notable enough, in Wikipedia's sense, to have an encyclopedia article. If you want to submit it again, you should submit it to the Swedish Wikipedia, but first read sv:Wikipedia:Skriv en ny artikel and sv:Wikipedia:Relevans. JohnCD (talk) 11:29, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Not done. With its mission statement, vision statement, and other unnecessary detail, the article looked more like a publicity brochure than something you would find in an encyclopedia of human knowledge. You are prohibited from using Wikipedia as a publicity medium. What WP:OTHERSTUFF may or may not exist has no bearing here, each article stands or falls on its own merits. Furthermore, it could also have been deleted in accordance with WP:CSD#A7 because the article made no credible claim of significance, and cited zero sources as evidence of notability. See WP:CORP to learn the criteria a company must meet before it merits an article here.
It is obvious that "you" are unaware of Wikipedia:Conflict of interest guidelines. If you have a conflict of interest, your only realistic venue is to submit an article via Wikipedia:Articles for creation. ~Amatulić (talk) 16:03, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

The page could be improved and the reason for deletion was G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion. I don't see how its as mentioned -DireGraph (talk) 14:44, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Not done. The article was nominated for speedy deletion in accordance with both WP:CSD#A7 and WP:CSD#G11, because it failed to assert a credible claim of significance for the subject, and it was unambiguously promotional. If you disagree, take it up with the deleting administrator Bbb23. Nevertheless, you should realize that subjective descriptors such as "long-serving" and "most famous", and marketing puffery such as "hardly a cricket ground in the world that he has not circled with the Lion Flag" are unambiguously promotional. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia of human knowledge, not a medium for publicity. ~Amatulić (talk) 22:32, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Why was this deleted ? I am an organizer of this event

It was deleted because the event isn't notable for inclusion in an encyclopedia (see WP:CSD#A7), and it was unambiguously promotional (see WP:CSD#G11). Also, the organizer of the event has a conflict of interest and should not be writing or editing an article about it (see WP:Conflict of interest). If you are User:Paddy Dakar, then you also should not be evading your block to post anywhere else but your talk page (see WP:EVASION). ~Amatulić (talk) 22:54, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Living advantage, Inc.

As a third party person, I believe the page should not be deleted. I already knew this non-profit agency for years and I think they are good enough to own a wikipedia page. Or could you give me the specific reason why this page looks like an advertisement? I think my words are neutral, and this page is about this organization, so of course it will look like only promote this group. Thanks for your time and help. -Yupingw (talk) 23:41, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Not done. Neutral? There were several instances of unsubstantiated subjective descriptors such as "vital" documents, "highly" secured, "leading" NPO, and so forth, cited to the organization's own web site rather than independent reliable sources. The overall article comes across as a corporate brochure, with unnecessary details about "impact" and philosophy. The article could have also been deleted on notability grounds, since there was no evidence of significant coverage (not just mentions or directly listings or IRS filings) in reliable independent sources. Feel free to ask the deleting administrator Cryptic for further clarification and possibly restoration to draft space or your sandbox for further improvement. ~Amatulić (talk) 00:01, 2 December 2014 (UTC)

Mary Helen Clark

This page appears to be marked for deletion because of a lack of consensus on WP:AFD. One user appeared determined to get the page deleted, regardless of all efforts to correct or improve the quality of the page in each of the areas questioned. The article does not meet the criteria for speedy deletion and, if this action results in deletion, I would like to request its undeletion. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nikilada (talkcontribs) 17:17, 1 December 2014

@Nikilada: this page is only for requesting restoration of articles which have been deleted. The result of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mary Helen Clark was no consensus, which defaults to keep. If you have disagreements about the content, they should be settled by discussion on the talk page, see WP:BRD. JohnCD (talk) 21:35, 1 December 2014 (UTC)

Disagree with concern that artist is unremarkable - former touring member of Echo & The Bunnymen and winner of Liverpool's 'GIT' Award in 2013 (see Music of Liverpool), nominee for Liverpool Music Awards Album Of The Year (alongside Miles Kane and The Coral's Ian Skelly) as well as appearing in Rough Trade's Albums Of The Year and more. @Lifelinetracks:   Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about music. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning musicians or music groups will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject. I have added a page about Ahmad Hasan Al-Zu'bi as part of a project I am working on, (a biography of a Jordanian writer, columnist and satirist). The project is about the Jordanian political satire. I chiefly aim to cover this genre and write about it in English since no enough English content is available about Jordan,in general, and the political satire in particular. I will add several other biographies in the upcoming days . Al-zu'bi or (Al-Zoubi) has had an important impact on the genre in Jordan and this is why I kindly urge you not to delete this page. If there anything that I can do, please let me know.

Best, Afaf

Frank L. Hoffman

I had worked extensively on the Frank L. Hoffman page. I would like it restored and userfied to my profile page - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:MaynardClark/... so I can make it a good article. The deletion was for notability reasons, but I think I can store it as a draft in my profile until I can establish what is needed to qualify by Wikipedia standards. -MaynardClark (talk) 06:24, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

  • @MaynardClark: - I am willing to restore the article to you userspace. However, I think you need to consider the possibility that the subject may simply not meet our notability guidelines. I see that you already put a lot of work on the article, and it seems like you made a good effort with the sources that were available. While I don't want to discourage you, I think you need to be realistic that you may not find the kind of sources that would establish notability at Wikipedia. That being said, if you still want to try, I will restore and userfy.--Mojo Hand (talk) 17:28, 21 November 2014 (UTC)
