Welcome!

Writing Wikipedia Articles is a free online course developed in collaboration with the School of Open, and conducted right here on Wikipedia. This is the self-paced version of the course, divided into six lessons. Each lesson includes a one-hour instructional video, reading materials, how-to videos and exercises. If you get stuck, post class-specific questions to the WikiProject Open Talk page, or more general editing questions to the "Teahouse" for new editors. Do I need to spend a whole week on each lesson, you ask? Of course not! We often do refer to each lesson by week, however, because the course was originally structured as a live one. Week One = Lesson One, Week Six = Lesson Six, etc. Happy editing!

The Final Project is optional for those taking the self-paced version of the class, but you'll learn a heck of a lot if you take one on! Check out some of our past student work. Your peers are monitoring the WikiProject Open talk page if you want to discuss your work there.
