Wikiproject After great success with Marco Polo (and his sheep!), Dry ice went pretty well. USS Massachusetts (BB-59) was challenging, and with Monkey, the project faded: Battle of the Nobles and Oil got little attention. |
We need your help! Spotlight is a collaboration - it works really well when lots of people get involved. It doesn't matter what skills you bring, because between us, we can do great things. Even if you make one, simple edit - if 100 people do that, we'll have made significant progress, and we all benefit by learning from each other. |
Current article This time, we've created a brand-new article, and between us we're confident of achieving a Did you know... on the main page, and work towards getting the article rated as C-class or B-class. |
Father Aengus Finucane died on 6 October at the age of 77; he was an Irish priest who did lots of work helping refugees of world conflicts, and was the head of the charity Concern. There are plenty of reliable sources, so it should be easy to write this - so please help out by editing the article. |

Wikiproject: The project was on hiatus until September 19, with nothing going on except voting on the next article. Efforts are being made to include participation again. The next article, Oil, shows a big interest by the participants and could be our bail out. This was the thought at the beginning, the project continued it's few participation and Oil wasn't improved that significantly. |
About the articles: Battle of the Nobles received little improvement with only two editors and a total of 21 edits in the course of 3 weeks. This is perhaps the worst month in Spotlight's history. Oil received only 54 edits, most of which not under direct collaboration. |

Wikiproject: There was a great debate about whether the article page should contain the Spotlight template or not. It resulted in keeping the template on the article to recruit more members and indicate rapid changes to the article. We've revamped the Suggestion page and the newsletter. |
About the articles: With Marco Polo, a Vital and controversial subject, we reignited the project. A lot of members joined the project and Marco Polo had more than 600 edits becoming the most improved article under the Spotlight this month. Marco Polo sheep was expanded over 5X and it took us a while but we managed to get two images of how the endangered sheep looks like. We then moved on to Dry Ice where we managed to get our hands on a video of the sublimation of the material. We have done 1216 edits to the articles under the Spotlight; this was a really active month and currently, the most active in Spotlight's history. |
