Tambayan Philippines Statistics Department

These is the Statistics page for Philippine-language Wikipedias hence the "Statistics Department". Statistics were gathered from stats.wikimedia.org and stats.grok.se. Feel free to ask me (Felipe Aira), the maintainer of this page, questions if there are any. Although it might be better if you'll just put them at the Talk page of this page. -- Felipe Aira 10:50, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lists

edit

Here is a list of the top 5 most active contributors on each Wikipedia, and how much is there contribution to the Wikipedias; that is how much percent of it (mainspace) can be attributed to them. (Bots are excluded. Accurate to May 31, 2008.)

The edits per article is the determiner of the quality of the Wikipedia. The most edited Wikipedias are the best Wikipedias since that only means that they are corrected, added upon and verified many more times than those Wikipedias with less edits.

All are based from the May 31 2010 statistics of http://stats.wikimedia.org/
Rank (number of contributors) Language Site Active contributors (>5 edits/month) Number of articles Edits per article % of articles >2KB

Projected figures

edit

In contributors, I rounded the decimal places since it's impossible to get 1.5 contributors. Also since this is a projection, it can never be 100% accurate but it's just here to give an idea what is most possible to happen.

On article growth, growth rate is based from the start of growth stability since a number of Wikipedias were "artificially" grown. I will base this on the "natural".

It is also surprising that the growth rate of the contributors of the Cebuano is larger than the Tagalog, and their number of contributors will surpass the Tagalog by QIV of 2008. I wish.

Also the current number of articles of the Tagalog is ~18,500 (September 2008) meaning that Tagalog is having a rise in its growth rate of articles.

Green indicates that the actual number is close to the predicted one while red indicates otherwise. Colourless fields are unknown yet. Green is close as 80% to the real figure.

These projections use the formula of uninhibited growth (aka. exponential growth model):
(Y: current figure; A: initial figure; B: growth rate; T:duration - months).

Page Views (for ceb and tl only)

edit

Page views are the number of times the Main Page of the Wikipedia is viewed. Roughly equivalent to number of visitors; although it should be noted that active Wikipedians view the Main Page tens of times more than simple visitors, that is why it can be assumed that the bulk of the page views are from active Wikipedians.
