While contributing to a related RfD discussion, Uanfala (and others, including myself) raised a useful question about the usefulness of this template (Template:RFL). So, I thought I'd propose this for discussion, which could include deleting, redirecting to Template:Reflist, keeping, or some other avenue. Doug Mehus (talk) 20:04, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

User:Pppery/noinclude list (which I think you are talking about) transcludes all pages listed at TfD for technical reasons. The transclusion will go away on its own once this TfD is closed. * Pppery * _{it has begun...} 20:16, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The point of the template is to save editors a bit of time when creating a new article: instead of writing == References == {{Reflist}} they can write {{subst:RFL}}. Personally, I don't think that the time savings are significant, and the template's existence can lead to confusion (see the linked RfD, where a lower-case version was created as a redirect to Template:Reflist). However, I don't think it should be deleted if people still actively use it; I don't know if they do: there are no transclusions only because the template is subst-only. – Uanfala (talk) 21:31, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Uanfala, Yeah, I realized that afterward that this template is not to be transcluded. I personally don't think it's that hard to type a "References" section head and "Reflist" in curly braces. It takes what, 5 seconds? Doug Mehus (talk) 23:53, 9 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Per past consensus (such as here, here and here), tournament squad navboxes are not used on the club level, only for major international football competitions (World Cup and main continental competitions, men and women). There is also a longstanding consensus to not have championship winning club squad templates in football, as there are too many competitions for this to be viable.
