Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson was a British admiral who won fame as a leading naval commander during the Napoleonic Wars. He was knighted in 1797 following his victory at the Battle of Cape St Vincent. He died at the Battle of Trafalgar, a decisive English victory in the war. Nelson was noted for his considerable ability to inspire and bring out the best in his men, to the point that it gained a name: "The Nelson Touch".
