⭠ Last week's report Next week's report → This report has a lot of holdover from the last one; in fact, eight of the top ten were in the top ten last week, including the former Hollywood couple suing each other that tops the list.

Rank Article Class Views Image Notes/about
Amber Heard   3,502,940   The world continues to pay attention to the big lawsuit (#25). I think it's a shame this has turned into a courtroom drama instead of what it should be; a judicial process to determine if serious allegations of domestic abuse were true.
Elon Musk   3,372,198   After two weeks of incessant speculation, the world's richest man bought Twitter this week for $54.20 a share (yes, he managed to sneak a meme into even this), approximately $40 billion. A lot of people are worried that he will axe Twitter's moderation policies while doing little to counter government censorship. The announcement spawned an exodus of users, caused Tesla stock to drop, and has been all over the news. One thing is for certain; I will now refer to him as Oh****ThisGuyOwnsTwitterMcSpaceDork. (Or maybe I'll stop being petty and drop it.) And his placement splitting the feuding couple is adequate, given he dated #1 for a while.
Johnny Depp   2,934,834   To be fair, this lawsuit was arguably more about Depp trying to discredit Heard and gain public support than any interest in judicial settlement.
K.G.F: Chapter 2   2,101,961   This Kannada production is now fourth on (both this list and) #5, quickly coming for #19's spot at number three, and is positioning itself to be the highest-grossing Indian film of the year. To put into perspective why this is such a big deal, consider this: before the K.G.F series, the biggest Kannada movie had made just $9.8 million in 2017, a measly number by Indian standards. Then came K.G.F: Chapter 1 in 2018 with a cumulative total of $33 million that was enough to set records for Kannada cinema (but not to break into #5). Its sequel has now quadrupled that achievement, entering the so-called 1000 Crore Club for Indian movies this week, minting big bucks at the box office with $130 million in and counting. For a relatively niche film industry, that is a monstrous success by any measure.
List of highest-grossing Indian films   1,311,975
2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine   1,142,375   The war continues to be awful. Some explosions in Transnistria led to worries about it being drawn in.
2022 NFL draft   1,139,811   Gridiron held its latest recruitment of college graduates. The top pick was Travon Walker, taken by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
John Wayne Gacy   924,271   This serial killer is featured in the Netflix documentary Conversations with a Killer: The John Wayne Gacy Tapes, following Ted Bundy three years ago.
Twitter   874,183   Tweet-sized write-up: #2 purchased the social network where he ranks 7th in the most followed accounts. And a guy who could be right below on that list if he didn't get himself banned said Musk's involvement made him give up on any attempts at returning, so not everything is bad!
Deaths in 2022   852,296   Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again...
The Batman (film)   720,222   Two superheroes present on streaming services dressed in cowls and capes, who go around punching criminals and throwing custom-shaped blades. But one wears black and is in a movie, and the other is in white and a series.
Moon Knight   717,720
Lily-Rose Depp   699,698   #3's previous marriage was to a French actress-singer who sang about a taxi, and one of their children followed Depp into acting.
Vanessa Paradis   686,519
Gangubai Kothewali   661,535   Two months ago, India saw the release of Gangubai Kathiawadi, a film based on the life of this sex worker and activist for the rights of sex workers. The critically acclaimed film starring Alia Bhatt (pictured) did pretty well, although it didn't quite make the Report because that was the same week #6 started. This week it was released on Netflix, which has brought the subject (but not the film) onto the list.
Tyson Fury   645,625   The charismatic professional boxer who lives up to his namesake in more ways than one defended his WBC heavyweight title last week in a fight against Dillian Whyte. After the fight, Fury announced he would be retiring, doing so undefeated (although some are sceptical).
2022 French presidential election   609,357   The world (well, most of it) breathed a sigh of relief after centrist incumbent Macron defeated far-right challenger Marine Le Pen on the first day of this week. Macron's victory managed to be both emphatic and hollow; he won by a bigger margin than most predicted, but still received 2 million fewer votes than he did last time. Depending on who you ask, this is either a win, a near miss, or somewhere in between.
Emmanuel Macron   576,770
RRR (film)   545,289   Six weeks in, India's first major box-office hit of the year is still making money and views.
Naomi Judd   503,182   The Judds announced a farewell tour later this year, yet one day before the country duo would be inducted at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, one half of it died. Condolences to Naomi's daughters, the one who sang with her in The Judds and the one who became an actress.
2022 World Snooker Championship   502,054   I was honestly quite surprised to see snooker on this report, but there it is at #21. The final of snooker's biggest competition is taking place as I write this between Englishmen Ronnie O'Sullivan and Judd Trump. I wonder who will win?

Well, past me, O'Sullivan won - his seventh Championship.

The Northman   489,582   Alexander Skarsgård followed brother Gustaf in starring in something about vikings, namely this epic by Robert Eggers that reunites the director with the main actress of his debut The VVitch, Anya Taylor-Joy.
365 Days: This Day   460,745   2 years after Polish dirty movie 365 Days became a Netflix sensation for appeasing a population needing sexual release during pandemic-induced isolation, comes out a sequel showing the progression of the abusive relationship of a hot gangster and the vacuous idiot he kidnapped in the first movie. Reviews were still scathing, but nothing that will stop our streaming overlords from dropping the trilogy closer.
Olivia Wilde   449,878   This actress was about to present the trailer for her upcoming movie Don't Worry Darling at CinemaCon when she was delivered an envelope, which turned out to be papers regarding custody of her children with Ted Lasso, I mean, Jason Sudeikis.
Depp v. Heard   446,528   And we end on the lawsuit that started this list.
