Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Generate categories
- For background on this page, see Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Using the bot.
In order for a project to be listed in the index and updated daily, one should, per the instructions at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Using the bot, first create a set of categories, and then follow a few other steps.
If you are an administrator, you can use the tool below to complete the first step in the instructions, creating those categories. Specifically, if Foobar is a project or an area of knowledge, the bot will create the following categories:
As of 2017 the bot is no longer working. Categories can be created by copy-and-pasting the following list, replacing Foobar with the name of the project:
- Category:Foobar articles by quality
- Category:FA-Class Foobar articles
- Category:FL-Class Foobar articles
- Category:A-Class Foobar articles
- Category:GA-Class Foobar articles
- Category:B-Class Foobar articles
- Category:C-Class Foobar articles
- Category:Start-Class Foobar articles
- Category:Stub-Class Foobar articles
- Category:List-Class Foobar articles
- Category:Assessed-Class Foobar articles
- Category:Unassessed Foobar articles
To proceed, edit the (protected) section below and replace Foobar articles by quality with the desired project, for example, Chemistry articles by quality. Then click on the "run the tool!" link. Make sure you check the output of the bot, and delete any categories which were created incorrectly.
After the bot is done, go to the section history and revert or rollback (you are an admin, right?) your edit so the section says Foobar articles by quality again to be ready for the next user.
