Marker graphics
editAll of the state highway markers past and present have been created and reside on the Commons. All single, double and triple-letter County markers have been made and reside on the Commons. In addition the default markers for Rustic Roads and Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive also reside there - with the State highway shields.

Structure
editArticle naming convention
editThe contents of each article in this project should reside at Wisconsin Highway XXX, with XXX being the route number (no leading zeros); also, Wisconsin State Highway XXX and WIS-XXX and Highway xxx (Wisconsin) should redirect to the article as well. (see WP:USSH)
Tolls
editSince Wisconsin does not have toll roads, this section is inappropriate for the articles.
Media
editMedia related to Wisconsin highways should be stored on Wikimedia Commons. Place the {{Commons category}} template near the end of the article using the form: {{Commons category|NAME}}, where NAME is the name of the category on Commons. For example, the application for Wisconsin Highway 52 is {{Commons category|Wisconsin Highway 52}}
. All of the categories are children of the Commons category Category:Roads in Wisconsin.
Categories
editAdd the following to the bottom of the page include in the Category for the article: [[Category:State highways in Wisconsin|###]]
for state trunk highways; the number should be three digits, padded with leading zeroes as needed. For Interstate, US, and former highways, there are Interstate Highways in Wisconsin
, U.S. Highways in Wisconsin
, and Former state highways in Wisconsin
respectively.

Templates
editBrowse Template
editIf an article does not have a browser in the infobox, use the following.
{{start srbox}} {{wi browse|previous_type=WI|previous_route=XX|route=WI|next_type=WI|next_route=XX}} {{end box}}
will create something like
Browse numbered routes | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
← WIS 21 | WI | → WIS 23 |
Replace previous and next type with "US" or "Interstate" if and only if the previous or next route is not a Wisconsin state highway. If the previous or next route is a U.S. Route, _type=US if it is an interstate, type=I On pages where a browse box already exists, you can omit the start and end templates, and just insert the wi browse, keeping the list in alphabetical order. For an example, see the browse box at U.S. Route 1 at the bottom of the article.
Junction list
editUse {{WIint}} and the rest of the {{jctint}} family of templates.
Stub sorting
editUse {{Wisconsin-road-stub}} to label stub articles.
Talk page banner
editAdd {{WikiProject U.S. Roads|state=WI}}
to the Talk page of the article.
