editUmm.... Hmm... Okay right down to buisness if you let this article be on wikepidia i promise to right much more about kenny ayne and his life because i have many resources — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.171.10.135 (talk) 00:14, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- Well, here's an offer you can't refuse - literally can't, because none of us are authorized to give you any other - add your resources and if we think they're enough, we'll accept it. Take a glance at WP:VRS and note that "Personal chats with Kenny Mayne, certain research, videos, Annie Mayne" aren't reliable sources. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 00:23, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
Followup on John Robilette
editHi, not sure of the formatting for a followup (see 2 posts above), but here goes: he should be mailing me more citations as I mentioned tomorrow, but it is also true that multiple major newspaper publications have been cited in his article already. The issue (no pun) is that those articles are from before 1995, so they very likely are not verifiable by an online lookup. I know for his web presence I also have scanned review articles out of Fanfare (magazine) for him. Would submission of links of these photos suffice? This is more a general knowledge question even.

- The article will probably be reviewed in the next few days. There's a bit of a backlog. For guidance about adding images see WP:PICTURE (it's best to make sure you have the copyright before adding pictures, especially while the article is at AfC). Sionk (talk) 12:12, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
Hi, Could you please give me some help/guidance, I'm trying to create an article on the history of the local swimming pool. It is of great local history and use and many people who volunteer to help actually learnt to swim there.
Could you perhaps show me how to do a citation? For instance I have mentioned that it's a uk charity and given the charity number, how do I turn this into a citation because the charity number can be checked if needed via the uk charity board.
Help! This is my first article, I'm loosing the will to live :-(
Thanks,
Jon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jonkersuk (talk • contribs) 12:01, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- Some guidance was added to your Talk page a couple of days ago. Inline citations are not compulsory unless you include a quote from a publication, or add controversial or sensitive information. All the same, they are often helpful for other readers. The most important thing at this stage is for you to establish that Swim Torquay is notable enough for Wikipedia. Hello, I am looking to understand why my article on James C. Wyant (Wikipedia talk:Articles for Creation/James C. Wyant) has been rejected several times. The first rejections asked for citations, but I have since included accurate, reliable, and independent citations. The last rejection stated that his significance was not explained. In reviewing the guidelines for academics, it appears that all the criteria is met (such as awards, being a Fellow of a society, and the chair of an academic department), and is made explicit in the entry and includes independent citations. James is a past president of the Optical Society, and I am looking to have this article match the rest of the presidents’ articles that have been included on the page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_Society). Many of the other entries for OSA presidents were written very similarly to this article, so I am not quite sure why there is this problem. I have spoken with reviewers in the live chat who recommended I include more independent citations, which I have done, yet I am still receiving rejections. If you could provide any specific instructions or tips as to how this article can be accepted, I would greatly appreciate it. Jim is a well-known figure in the physics community and certainly deserves to have a Wikipedia page like so many others in the field. Pmosa (talk) 13:56, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- I have accepted the article; though while I have familiarity with the field and its members the clean up edit fit issues of context and sources; it is not required to have AfC pages reviewed before posting, but as a matter of peer review on the page the majority of our pages will not become candidates for Articles for Deletion and are of higher quality. - Chris created five minutes before I did (or tried to). Congradulations Pmosa :) Nolelover Talk·Contribs 14:51, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Can't figure out if i did it right. Thanks, Eliz.Lutz (talk) 21:02, 27 February 2012 (UTC)Eliz.Lutz
- Indeed it has been. Look for it to be reviewed within a few days. Nolelover Talk·Contribs 22:01, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- Your article is now in the queue for review. There appeared to be an extra <ref> without a closing </ref>. This can cause many problems. I have fixed the technical problem, but did not want to fix your article. You may want to review it as soon as possible. :- ) DCS 22:07, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
