The article has many problems. It has no references (see referencing for beginners). It is written like a promotion. And, you submitted it multiple times without improving it or asking for help. Thus, the article has been rejected. If you can find me five sources that discuss the subject with significant coverage and are reliable and independent, post them on my talk page and I will consider them, and if they show notability I will help you to write the article. If such sources cannot be found, the subject is not notable, and we cannot write about them. In that case, I'm sorry, I know it feels bad to have your work thrown away. But take it as a learning opportunity. To help your WikiJourney, you may wish to take the Wikipedia Adventure. Captain Eek Edits Ho Cap'n! 09:15, 4 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Daphinevadhera, I still don't see why the article is notable, and it also seems promotional to me. Captain Eek Edits Ho Cap'n! 21:01, 4 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have made changes to the article. Please have a look and share your thoughts

Shanika Mayadunne is born in a rural village and she climbed the social ladder by setting up a very good example of rural schoolers in Sri Lanka. She is a remarkable young woman. I have personally noticed Teachers in her home village use her as an example to motivate young boys and girls which gives me this thought of having this notable article which will encourage young rural Sri Lankan boys and girls.

I would request you to let this publish and allow the community to decide rather rejecting.

Nanoworld1986, The current draft has a single, incomplete sentence. You will need far more content, as well as reliable sources, in order for this draft to get accepted. Captain Eek Edits Ho Cap'n! 21:02, 4 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The article titled "List of members of the Virginia House of Burgesses" has a link for the Burgess John Browne. It does not seem unreasonable that when one clicks on the link they expect an article about that person. Unfortunately, there is not much information known about John Brown, but if nothing else, one would expect to at least see when he served as a burgess and who he represented. I myself expected to see that information and was surprised when it was not available. How can it be known these people were members of this governmental body and yet not know when or who they served. When I happened upon John Browns information I thought I would be helpful and add it. Apparently he is sufficiently notable to be named as a member of the House but not notable enough to know anything more about him. Whatever! But it is stupid to be able to click on his name and have it go nowhere. Even a small amount of information about him is better that nothing. Do with it what you will, it is Wikipedia that looks insufficient when a link goes no where. BEHickey (talk) 16:54, 4 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

BEHickey, When you click on a redlink, you shouldn't expect it to take you to an article. Redlinks are left when someone thinks the subject could be notable. Being redlinked doesn't mean you are notable however, and might be a reason to remove that redlink. Only folks who have significant coverage in multiple reliable and independent sources are notable. Unless you could find more sources discussing Browne, we can't write about him. I know it feels bad to have your work rejected, but writing an article from scratch is one of the hardest things to do on Wikipedia. Many have hit their head on the bar of notability, as it can be tricky. I hope you stick around and keep editing however, you are cut out to be a great Wikipedian.
