The contest department of WikiProject Australia aims to motivate increased quality in Australia articles by offering a form of friendly competition for project members making improvements to them. The primary contest available is a simple rolling competition that awards points for improving articles, as originally developed by the LGBT studies WikiProject and Military history; but more formal competitions are also being planned.
Contest rules
editThe contest is fairly simple in structure:
Ending class | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Beginning class |
Start | B | GA/A | FA | |
None/Stub | +1 | +4 | +9 | +16 | |
Start | +3 | +8 | +15 | ||
B | +5 | +12 | |||
GA/A | +7 |
- Editors wishing to enter will select an article they will work on; multiple articles may be selected, if desired. They will then have until the end of the month to make improvements to it.
- At the end of the month—or earlier, by request—the article will be evaluated, and points will be awarded based on its standing in the project's quality scale before and after the improvements made.
- Editor's point totals will be tracked, and monthly, quarterly, and annual winners will be recognized.
