Discussion
editN.B. If a similar project already exists let me know so I can join that instead.
The aim would be to improve, correct, and create articles relating to music, media, history, events, people, and places (etc.) that are of particular importance or interest to the culture (ie. to the lives of speakers) of Welsh, Cornish, Irish, Breton, Gaelic, or Manx languages. For example there are a lot of bands with pages on cy.wiki who have no English translation or whose page in one of the two languages is poorly written or hasn't been updated for a long time. One of the main interests to me personally is that I think the Eisteddfod pages need to be made more cross-navigable, complete and correct in their information, and consistent across all celtic languages on Wikipedia as it is a fairly large event that has inspired copycat equivalents across the celtic nations over its long history. It's history, that is, of 300 or 1000 years depending upon which language you read about it in. There has also been noted multiple times to be Problems with un-encyclopeadic romanticism on articles regarding celtic history (certainly about Wales at least). I'd like to see that improved. I'm not really qualified to do much about this on a grand scale but I'd like to know if anybody else is interested in working on it. At the very least it'd be nice to see some banners on Talk pages marking articles for their relevance which seems to be the main thing WikiProjects do.
Any thoughts?
