Description
editProposed project regarding all things IBM... there are dozens (if not hundreds) of articles about IBM's business, products, and history. I'd like to work with other editors to improve and standardize them, and bring the more important articles to featured status. /Blaxthos ( t / c ) 00:50, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion
edit- Comment - Instead of a wikiproject this should be a taskforce of computing. Irunongames • play 14:32, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Disagree, mostly because IBM's significance and the intended scope of the project extends beyond computing. Beyond covering IBM's non-computing products (rifles, POS, typewriters, etc.) it is my hope that this project will also contribute to articles about IBM that don't really fall under "computing" (business practices, history, etc). //Blaxthos ( t / c ) 22:04, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Agree/Disagree - I think a computing task force is like a national healthcare plan - perhaps too big a nut to chew. However, tackling a smaller nut like IBM could result in a template that could be replicated with other firms, technologies, etc.. It'd be useful I think for this project to keep a larger 'computing' project in mind when fleshing out these articles and collating this content coherently. Using IBM as a pilot in this regard - given its size, breadth, and chronological length - does have a certain logic to it in that chances are it will encompass all of the issues that we are likely to run into for any other aspect of the computer industry. If we can figure out something that works for IBM, it will likely work anywhere. Paul C. Lasewicz (talk) 13:27, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment - Nice work pulling together the IBM articles page! I see that the page is entirely product focused. Would IBM-related biography and other non-product articles fall under the aegis of this project as well? Paul C. Lasewicz (talk) 13:27, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
