Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?

I have found from my experience that not only is there plenty of room to expand on this subject but many of the articles that do exist are either very incomplete or suffering from persistant vandalism. Providing Wikipedia with a dedicated Wikiproject like the Wikipedia:WikiProject British Empire or Wikipedia:WikiProject Ottoman Empire would be a helpful step in the right direction towards solving these issues.

• Thanks for the invitation, but I'd rather not join the project. I am currently semi-retired. And a project with this name seems likely to attract the attention of "nationalists" (Portuguese or otherwise). Not worth the aggravation. Walrasiad (talk) 19:33, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
