Description
editProjectDescription This Wikiproject would be a place focused on expanding and creating articles regarding Samsung's products. A main focus would be their smartphones, particularly with creating articles on smartphones in the A series, which is quite behind, checking for errors in the specs (they have a lot of phones, which makes it easy to mix up the specs), and improving the quality of product articles. - Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
- I believe that some focus needs to be directed toward Samsung, especially the underserved mid-range smartphone lineup, as many articles have yet to be created.
Support
editAlso, specify whether or not you would join the project.
- I would definitely join the Wikiproject, but I would definitely need help since I've never been a part of a brand new one before. Thanks, EDG 543 (talk) 14:06, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- I will try to help make it a good project. Prairie Astronomer Talk 16:15, 9 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- I support and likely join. ExclusiveEditor (talk) 17:21, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose
edit- I can't say that a WikiProject focused on a particular brand seems like a good idea. If you want to work on those pages, why not make it a project about cell phones & tablets, instead of just Samsung? You can still work on the Samsung pages under that umbrella. Having a project focused on a particular brand doesn't seem like a great idea, no matter how notable they are. I would recommend changing the proposal to something a bit more generic, or making a working group underneath Wikiproject Technology that focuses on mobile devices. Just my 2c. Also just noticed there is an existing Wikiproject Telecommunications -- that would be a much better use of your time than creating and maintaining a new wikiproject! - @MrAureliusR: But I noticed that there are Wikiprojects for other technology companies, including WikiProject Apple Inc., WikiProject Google, and WikiProject Microsoft, just to name a few. What makes those a better idea than this? Should I change it to simply "WikiProject Samsung"? Thanks, EDG 543 (talk) 16:50, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- @EDG 543: are there any successful work process in those projects that you wish to replicate? Which? – Finnusertop (talk ⋅ contribs) 00:59, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
