AfD. Some sources appear to support notability, but I think this is worth discussion unless a subject expert advocates keeping this article. Janggeom (talk) 14:14, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unsure This article was PRODded by Astudent0. After the time the article could have been removed, an editor removed the PROD because it "limits us from hearing a different viewpoint which is lacking in references only because it is new." The lack of independent references is the problem. I don't see the independent sources to show notability. The list of published books supports notability, but I'd be happier seeing some third party sources. An AfD might settle the issue. Papaursa (talk) 22:10, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
AfD. As far as I can see, all of the substantial sources for this article (and the article on its founder) were written by the founder himself (Peter Ralston). From what I remember of looking at the founder's article a while ago, the claims would meet WP:MANOTE; the problem is that there do not appear to be substantial secondary sources. Keep Seems like this has come up before. It seems to be sourced in multiple independent publications, sometimes with more than just a passing mention. Papaursa (talk) 22:18, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Keep I cannot imagine how this got tagged with notability: it has references. Christian Tissier was invited to give an aikido demo at the 40th year celebration of aikido in Switzerland. jmcw (talk) 12:42, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Comment When I originally put the notability tag on the article it was unsourced. Frankly, I don't see great notability in the article I can read. He's written a bunch of aikido books and that may be sufficient to show notability. I just wanted someone with knowledge about aikido to weigh in. Papaursa (talk) 21:48, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
AfD This article is basically unsourced and I can't find independent references that show its notability. Appears to be another art that's just a combination of existing arts. Papaursa (talk) 22:10, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
