Recommendation: AFD I was unable to find any good sources in English. In Russian, I found a page that is the same as this one. I also did quick searches for "Aikido Azerbaydzhana" and "Azerbaycan Aikido Federasiasi" without finding a good source. I don't speak Azerbaijani/Azeri so I'm limited in that regard. Papaursa (talk) 01:44, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Recommendation: AFD. I know that foreign language sources are acceptable, but I have a WP:V problem when I can't find anything in English that indicates they are notable. Taking things on faith only goes so far. Niteshift36 (talk) 15:14, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Recommendation: AfD (someone on the British scene might provide better guidance). The BTC appears to be an industry council, recognised by the UK government, which serves to register professional instructors. A Google search returned 288 hits for "British Taekwondo Council" and 211 hits for "British Tae Kwon Do Council"; of these, 33 hits were from UK government websites ("gov.uk" addresses). There did not appear to be any substantial sources apart from the BTC's own website. A Google Books search returned 2 hits for each of those two names, with none appearing to be substantial sources. Janggeom (talk) 02:57, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Recommendation: Keep. Well-known martial artist; should be sourceable. Especially since his (notable, in my opinion) art doesn't have its own page and is covered here I think it meets the WP:N threshold. Google Books gives several Black Belt magazine hits, e.g. [2]. JJL (talk) 19:19, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Recommendation: Keep/Rename. The Institute of Aikido was founded by Hayden W. Foster. Both produce large google results.[3][4] One of these entities could have an article in wikipedia. jmcw (talk) 13:43, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Recommendation: AfD. The ITA is a martial art school franchising company (its own description of itself) in the USA. A Google search returned 370 hits for "International Taekwondo Alliance"; none of these appeared to be substantial sources, apart from the ITA's own website. A Google Books search returned 1 hit, which did not appear to be a substantial source. I considered recommending CSD-G11 (unambiguous advertising), and would support this if others agree with me; AfD was my conservative recommendation. Janggeom (talk) 03:11, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Recommendation: Merge into International H.K.D Federation. The foundation isn't even mentioned in the article, it's mentioned in the IHKD article as being founded to be "in charge of Myung Jae Nam's [IHKD founder] heritage". All that's mentioned in the foundation's article is "Jae Nam Mu Sul Won is the headquarters of the International H.K.D Federation." No notability is shown (or claimed) for the foundation so it could be a speedy delete candidate, but I'm being conservative. Papaursa (talk) 03:55, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Recommendation: Keep. Lima Lama is a well-known system. Mentioned in "The Way of the Warrior: Martial Arts and Fighting Styles from Around the World" by [[Chris Crudelli]]. Passing news mentions [5], [6], [7]. Numerous hits in Google Books including from Black Belt magazine. I have a book on it but due to a recent move my books are still in boxes. JJL (talk) 19:19, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Recommendation: AFD Can find no reliable sources (at least not in English). It's a relatively new organization and isn't even mentioned in the article on its founder and head instructor. Papaursa (talk) 02:27, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Recommendation: AFD Not a single return in gnews. Some minor coverage in google books, much of it being mentions. A little coverage, but not exactly a lot to work with.Niteshift36 (talk) 14:41, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Recommendation: Keep. This is a borderline case--a martial art that's reasonably well-known among martial artists and has received some attention ([9]) but is still new enough to not have achieved the level of notability of many other arts. It's a reasonable braek-out of Moses Powell but could also be merged back there. JJL (talk)
Recommendation: Neutral At a quick glance your reference looks to me like ads for his videos. This article could use some reliable sourcing. Neither the article for Moses Powell or his style show any reliable sources. However, the article may be salvageable. The more I think about it, the more I want to say it should go to AFD, but I haven't looked hard enough at it yet and I've spent more time on Wikipedia today than I should have. Papaursa (talk) 02:10, 22 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Comment. There is a potential conflict of interest here, so I will only comment on this article rather than make a recommendation. Note that "South Pacific Taekwon-Do Federation" could refer to at least three different entities: the Australian-based martial art school (the subject of this article) and two organisations that were part of the ITF (one established in the 1970s, and then an apparently different one established in the 1980s). A Google search returned 38 hits for "South Pacific Taekwon-Do Federation" (at least some of which refer to the other entities, not the present subject); none of these appeared to be substantial sources. A Google Books search returned 0 hits; using the name components (rather than searching for the exact name, in quotation marks) returned 23 hits, none of which appeared to be related to the subject. On further investigation, a Google search returned 54 hits for "South Pacific Taekwondo" and a Google Books search returned 0 hits for that name. None of these appeared to be substantial sources, apart from the subject's own website. Janggeom (talk) 03:25, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Recommendation: AFD I couldn't find good independent sources. I also checked the 5 references given in the article--3 are dead links, 1 is an address, and the other is essentially an address and ad. Papaursa (talk) 20:21, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Recommend AFD. Zero returns on Gnews or Gbooks. 4000 ghits, many of which are various wiki's or mirrors, blogs or something from the assoc. itself. Possibly a speedy candidate. Niteshift36 (talk) 15:14, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Recommend AfD. But I could be convinced otherwise. The two "references" listed in the article are written by the current head of the art. Apparently the word "tetsudo" is used in other languages. I get over 2 million ghits, mostly foreign language sources, but few appeared to have anything to do with a martial art. I'm not just having a WP:N issue, but a WP:V one. The few English sources I could find were connected to their site. Niteshift36 (talk) 15:14, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Would support AFD When I search for tetsudo and martial arts I get no reliable sources. Head of organization claims to have been only student of founder--seems questionable to me. No evidence passes WP:MANOTE. Papaursa (talk) 21:00, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Recommendation: AFD This appears to be another made-up art claiming to combine techniques from Japanese, Korean, and Chinese martial arts. I'm not saying it should be deleted (I haven't done enough research for that), but I do believe it's questionable enough to be discussed. Papaursa (talk) 20:21, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Provisional neutral. I have to discount the source jmcw linked to a little because it is from the university where it was founded. IF the claims in the article are true, it passes WP:MANOTE. But I'd really like to see a solid, independent source to support the claim. Niteshift36 (talk) 15:14, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Recommendation: Keep The article isn't terribly well sourced, but when I googled "world karate union hall of fame" I got over 83,000 hits. Some are in magazines like Action Martial Arts, but many are in local newspapers talking about award recipients. I know these are just passing mentions, but that's a lot of passing mentions. In the interest of full disclosure, I did edit this article (although it was just to correct a web address). Papaursa (talk) 19:25, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Weakly neutral. This sounds a lot like one of those "let's make up a hall of fame" things. Then "induct" some notable people who more than likely didn't appear in person to accept it. I looked and Dan Severn, one of the notable inductees, doesn't list it in their bio. Niteshift36 (talk) 15:21, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Did some clean up of the overlinking, removed the blatantly promotional material and tagged for need of third party sources. One thing that bothered me in the article was this: "GM Shin said that when he found and bought land for the new WTSDA HQ he would rank himself to 9th Degree GM. In October 2009 he bought land in North Carolina, thus declaring himself 9th degree GM"Niteshift36 (talk) 15:32, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That comment caught my eve as well. I'm skeptical of this organization, but I haven't had time to thoroughly research it. Papaursa (talk) 21:00, 7 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
