The Military history A-Class crosses encourage and recognize continued excellence in article creation and development. They are open to any editor who has made a significant contribution to five or more military history A-Class articles promoted after the editor has qualified for their fifteenth A-Class medal with Diamonds. Nominations, including self-nominations, should be made on this page, and should list the five A-Class articles for which the award is sought. The nomination must be endorsed by at least two project coordinators, who will award the cross.
The four types of crosses are awarded as follows:
- For the first five groups (35–39) of five articles, the A-Class cross is awarded for each group
- For the next six groups (40–45) of five articles, the A-Class cross with Oak Leaves is awarded for each group
- For the next ten groups (46–55) of five articles, the A-Class cross with Swords is awarded for each group
- For the next fifteen groups (56–70) of five articles, the A-Class cross with Diamonds is awarded for each group
