Below is a list of articles removed from the main list of articles from the 1911 edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica that may have inadequate or outdated information. That list was generated from the original 1911 topics list and articles with the {{1911}} reference template. The list below is made up of items proposed to be removed without adding a redirect or article.
Many entries on this page are due to:
- OCR scanning errors in the online source materials, generically referred to as "typos"
- Artifacts due to the logic of the automated tools that generated the topic list
- Inappropriate grouping of two topics into one article in Encycopedia Britannica
The single-character flags are:
- Articles with no additional marking were from the original topics list
- Articles with * had the {{1911}} template
- Articles with + were on both lists

- Acora not actually in EB1911; nearest is Aymara, or could be typo for Acorn
- Acrostio () - probable typo of Acrostic
- Adan, de le Hale Adam () - typo of Adam de la Halle
- Adheson () - typo of Wiktionary:adhesion
- Aelfrio () - = typo of Ælfric*
- Aerotherapcutics () - typo of Aerotherapeutics

- Agapetao - typo for Agapetae, although Edward Waverley kindly provided a redirect

- Arcs - neither Arc nor Arcs in EB1911
- Arithmetio - mis-scan for Arithmetic
- Arladne - mis-scan for Ariadne
- Armagnao - mis-scan for Armagnac
- Artificial Gem - no equivalent EB1911 or WP article found
- Artificial gem* - as above
- Asclopiades scan error for one of the Asclepiades

edit- Back'S actually refers to Back's River (now Back River); the WP article is good.
- Baco, Bacconius), John Baconthorpe refers to John Baconthorpe, an EB copy that could do with updated references.
- Badaksban () - typo for Badakshan, the old transliteration of Badakhshan
- Baedeker Karl () - Both Karl Baedeker and Baedeker are good
- Baffin Bay and Baffin Land () - Baffin Bay and Baffin Island cover it. Using the whole phrase for lookup is unlikely.
- Bagiemi () - prob OCR error for Bagirmi
- Bailiff and Bailie () - both are adequately covered
- Bairn's Part Legitim () - Bairn's Part redirects to Legitim
- Balk Baulk () - actually balk or baulk; see balk.
- Banier), Johan Baner () - Weird. See Johan Banér
- Barbosa De () - Refers to Manuel Maria Barbosa du Bocage (EB1911 incorrectly has "de" instead of "du")
- Bardowiek () - The town is definitely now called Bardowick. I can't find definitive references whether this is an old spelling or an EB error. There are some pages on the web that refer to Bardowiek but nothing about the different spellings. I don't feel comfortable making a redirect.
- Barnes; Bernes, Juliana Berners {{search|Barnes]];+[[Bernes,+Juliana+Berners}} - refers to Juliana Berners
- Barotseland Barotse () - refers to Barotseland and the Lozi people
- Barrande () - refers to Joachim Barrande, and that's how the article appears in EB1911
- Barros () - refers to João de Barros, which is how it appears in 1911; I don't see the need for a redirect.
- Bassette Basset () - the EB article is Basset, or Bassette, and WP has them.
- Battue () is a dicdef in EB1911
- Beadsman Bedesman () - OK, Beadsman is there with both spellings given
- Bear-Baiting and Bull-Baiting () - two articles
- Bejan Daruwala () - contemporary Indian astrologer. Notable or not, there is no Daruwala in the EB1911 text. Bejan, however, exists and needed its own entry.
- Benito Perez Galds is an obvious OCR error for Benito Pérez Galdós.
- Benjamin Curtis Stannard, Joseph Porter is an inexplicable mix of Benjamin Curtis Porter and Joseph Stannard.
- Berri Berry derives from the article title "Berry, or Berri" (see Berry (province)).
- Besas Bes comes from EB "Bes, or Bēsas"; Bes is in WP and Besas is a redirect.
- Biblical Cush is puzzling; the phrase doesn't appear in EB1911 but is the (rather odd) name of a WP article.
- Birdpur is not an article in EB1911.
- Bladder and Prostate Diseases are adequately covered (and modern) starting with Bladder and Prostate.
- Borgo Val di Taro apparently not in EB.
- Boundary Bound is an transcription of "Boundary, or Bound"
