  1. Begin with cleanup of project pages
    1. update summaries -  Working
    2. tidy-up main page by removing old stuff and getting and non-working essentials going again - (started)
  2. Find out who is still active (started)
    1. Write to all recently active on the active members list and request feedback on status -  Done (anyone with contribs in last 2 years)
    2. gather experts if any exist within the project -  On hold (3 approached)
    3. query collaborator groups (after article sort started)
  3. Articles
    1. Locate all articles with Robot or Robotics cats and their subs: update with suitable tags and templ.  Done (see A below)
      1. 8,237 articles in Robot and Robotics categories - needs another run to add cats and tags to talk pages not worked on with AWB.
    2. Search articles for any within scope which may not have cats added (recent stubs, new articles etc) Ongoing
    3. Start assessments process (see C below)  Working
  4. Update pages weekly/fortnightly Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Robotics/Assessment/progresstable

A. The first thing that I am doing is going through all the robot and robotics categories and sub-cats, adding the robotics tags to all pages that fit within the scope of the project, checking the parameters of those already in place and do basic copy-edits (dashes it's who's etc) using AWB.

    • Changed of plan - AWB does not allow this - cleaned up typos, dashes, dead links, spaces between punctuation and refs, "isn't" -> "is not" "don't" -> "do not" etc., lots of other litle mistakes - any AWB stopped on checked for tag on talk page.
    • Second run needed - AWB loaded cursive levels and got too mnay - things like Lime Oven ended up in the list ?!? - will do it cat by cat.

B. Once they have all been looked at by cat the second thing I am going to do is to is a search and get any that do not have the robot or robotics cat on and add them. Hopefully that will bring the total number of pages that fall within the scope of the project up-to-date.

C. Start the assessments. These will be in three stages -

  • basic assessments: anyone on the active members lists and (more than 500? or so edits (article)) : ???->Stub->start + importance. Any at ??? discovered to be already at B class should be left and note made for later by making "C" class assessment
  • Next level: assembled editors after discussion :re-assess start and C : C MUST be made either Start, Stub or B candidates - work on any promising articles that may get to B - assess as "needs attention = yes" on talk page template, demote those which are not promising to Start unless unsure in which case mark as "needs attention". Any obvious fails of Start demote to Stub
  • Third level level: Assessment team: Any article at B, GA, A, FL or FA : Demote any B, GA or A that are not good enough - propose B for GAN (Good article nomination) and if poss GA, B or A for FAN (Featured article nomination)
