Some Wikipedians have formed a project to better organize information in articles related to rugby league. That project has had success but has failed to focus its scope on State of Origin. In Australia, State of Origin is such an important aspect of rugby league. This task force, which has been formed by members of WikiProject Rugby league, is aimed to greatly improve the poor quality of all Wikipedia articles related to State of Origin. For more information on WikiProjects and task forces, please see Wikipedia:WikiProjects and Wikipedia:WikiProject best practices. You may sign up for this task force below under the Participants section by adding your name there.

Scope

edit

The aim of the project is to create a pool of consistent and attractive articles that are easy to find and read, which can be achieved by maintaining and creating:

Recently updated articles and News

edit

The following State-of-Origin-related articles have been recently updated or created (note: this is not a complete list, just a list of articles which participants wish to bring to the attention of other participants):

  • Each of the 27 Origin contest years now has its own article. -Sticks66 (talk) 20/11/07

Assessment

edit

Our parent's, WikiProject Rugby League, Assessment Department rates an articles' importance to the project as well as it's quality, which is shown below. Here is a summary of currently assessed material: Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Rugby league (State of Origin) articles by quality statistics Check regularly on the unassessed list of articles and rate their importance and quality.

Peer review

edit

The peer review department conducts peer reviews of articles on request; this helps to obtain ideas for further improvement by having contributors who may not have previously worked on particular articles examine them. Project members are invited to submit articles to the department in lieu of using the generic peer review process. The peer review department is run by our parent, WikiProject Rugby league and you can submit an article for peer review or assist in reviewing articles here.

Participants

edit

Project participants are listed at the participants list. Feel free to add your name there and the state you support and your most meomarable Origin moment. If you have a cap for the WP:RL, feel free to add it there.

Assessment

edit

Quality scale

edit

The quality is the same as our parent, WikiProject Rugby league. It still goes under class in the template {{WikiProject Rugby league}}.

Importance scale

edit

Unlike our parent, WikiProject Rugby league, we have a different importance scaling. Here it is below. It goes under the code state-of-origin-importance in the template {{WikiProject Rugby league}}.

Top importance
  • Only three articles, the main article, and the two team articles.
High importance
  • All articles relating to State of Origin in general (like results and statistics, or player pages)
Mid importance
  • Captains and Coaches off both teams (Automatically assessed)
Low importance
  • All other players. (Automatically assessed, except players not created)
Others
  • Should be discussed on the talk page. Though there shouldn't be too many.

Requested articles (Qld)

edit
The category Category:Queensland Rugby League State of Origin players should have 163 players in it.

And

Coaches

Requested articles (NSW)

edit

Category:New South Wales Rugby League State of Origin players should have 210 players in it.

And

Super League Tri-Series
Coach

How to help

edit
  • Complete all requested articles above
  1. Once you have created the article, make sure to add {{WikiProject Rugby league|class=|importance=|state-of-origin=yes|state-of-origin-importance=}}.
  2. If the article is a player add the page to Category:Queensland/New South Wales Rugby League State of Origin players
  3. Strike out (using <s>TEXT HERE</s>) the article (DO NOT REMOVE IT)
That should be enough to get on with, for a while
