Infoboxes are designed to present summary information about an article's subject, such that similar subjects have a uniform look and in a common format. Navboxes help readers browse through related articles. This index outlines Scouting-related templates.

Naming standards

Navigational templates

Scouting by country or region templates will be named "Scouting by country/region"
Scouting by organization templates will be named "Scoutorg name/abbreviation"

Images

Non-free images used in infoboxes should be directly related to the subject. The use of generic logos is not recommended and usually constitutes a purely decorative use.

This is a logo of a Scouting or Guiding item, or event, and is protected by copyright. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images on the English-language Wikipedia,

Where no free equivalent is available or could be created that would adequately give the same information,
hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation, of logos for certain uses involving identification and critical commentary,

Template:Non-free use rationale logo may be helpful for stating the rationale.
Regarding uses other than in the original article: A detailed non-free use rationale is required for every article the Scouting or Guiding logo is used in. Check the non-free use criteria and do not assume that existing rationales can be simply copied and pasted, as they may not necessarily apply.

Current versions of logos are inherently related to the organization and do not need commentary
Historical logos or logos for one-time events must have related content
