Wikipedia:WikiProject Streetcars
This is a WikiProject, an area for focused collaboration among Wikipedians. New participants are welcome; please feel free to participate!

Some Wikipedians have formed a project to better organize information in articles related to urban rail transportation systems. This page and its subpages contain their suggestions; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians. If you would like to help, please inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list there.
Scope
editThis WikiProject aims primarily to expand Wikipedia coverage of urban, suburban, and interurban public transport rail services, including funiculars, horsecars, cable cars, trams, interurban, light rail, heritage streetcars and similar systems.
We want to expand information and articles to include historical, current, and future time periods. Subjects should include people, companies, technology, vehicles, rights of way, and systems. Some of these may form the basis later for a split as this project progresses. Essentially, we are limiting subjects to land-based transportation of people the majority of whom are traveling 40 miles or less one-way to and from home, school, and places of employment on services. - Articles on proposed streetcar/tram systems (e.g. Transit City)

Templates
editAdd the following to your user page:
to create:
This user is a member of the Trams WikiProject |
Add the following to the talk page of an article to place it within this project's Category:WikiProject Streetcars articles (and please note that other parameters may be specified in the template):
{{WikiProject Streetcars|class=|importance=}}
Add the following template to the bottom of a relevant (stub or very short) article. Note WP:LAYOUT for placement recommendations:
{{tram-stub}}
articles then placed into the Category:Tram stubs can then be examined and hopefully expanded.
Similarly, the template {{europe-tram-stub}} places articles into the Category:Europe tram stubs, {{UK-tram-stub}} places articles into Category:United Kingdom tram stubs. The {{Norway-tram-stub}} template will place an article into both the Category:Europe tram stubs and Category:Norway rail transport stubs.
