American academic administrator stubs
- The following discussion is an archived debate of the proposed creation of the stub template and/or category above. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on the template's or category's talk page (if any). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the debate was create by decade or year of birth.
Oversized category, I plan to shrink it using the state they served in. Three states have enough stubs for a category:
- {{Massachusetts-academic-administrator-stub}} (81) - Category:Massachusetts academic administrator stubs
- {{NewYork-academic-administrator-stub}} (90) - Category:New York (state) academic administrator stubs
- {{Pennsylvania-academic-administrator-stub}} (79) - Category:Pennsylvania academic administrator stubs Old Man Consequences (talk) 20:07, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
- Old Man Consequences, I think it's more intuitive to sort by year of birth than by state in this case. I think the way the Category:American business biography stubs tree is laid out is a good example. Curbon7 (talk) 15:48, 29 June 2022 (UTC)
- Support YOB sort per Curbon7. Year or decade of birth doesn't change, whereas a living administrator's location might. Her Pegship (?) 02:59, 4 July 2022 (UTC)

Geomitridae stub

NB: This is NOT the same as Category:Geometridae stubs, which already exists. The existing GeomEtridae--with an E--is a family of moths. My proposed GeomItridae--with an I--is a family of gastropods--snails. I propose this one under Category:Helicoidea stubs, which is a Parent Only category. There will be at least 120 in the category. Right now, there are many articles under Gastropod stubs, which is an overly broad category for individual articles, in my opinion. Further, the stub categories under gastropods have a lot of upmerging; this will avoid some of that. Uporządnicki (talk) 00:21, 21 June 2022 (UTC)
- Currently another redirect to Gastropod-stub, like Ancillariidae-stub. Support - Her Pegship (?) 17:19, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
- Oh, thanks about the redirect. Yeah, the instructions talk about looking for stub categories; as far as I've seen (did I miss it somewhere?), they don't mention looking for stub templates--or redirects to them. But after the last one, I should have known that. Uporządnicki (talk) 18:44, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
- No criticism meant! I only mention it because it might make your job easier. Her Pegship (?) 17:48, 24 June 2022 (UTC)

Category:Australian politician stubs is oversized, the following upmerge proposal will alleviate it slightly.
{{Australia-diplomat-stub}} (72) - Category:Australian diplomat stubs Old Man Consequences (talk) 12:29, 10 June 2022 (UTC)
- I believe you mean "de-upmerged"; at any rate, support. Her Pegship (?) 16:25, 10 June 2022 (UTC)

Category:Italian politician stubs
This one is large enough (1435 articles in the tree; luckily I wouldn't have to manually sort too much as there are keywords in these articles that make AWB usable) that a joint region-party sort would work. Sorting by the 20 regions of Italy (as follows Category:Italy geography stubs), and then by the major parties.
Regions:
Parties:
The following 3 already exist:
- Category:Democratic Party (Italy) politician stubs
- Category:Italian Communist Party politician stubs
- Category:The People of Freedom Party politician stubs
Proposing the following set of major parties as well:
- {{M5S-politician-stub}} // Category:Five Star Movement politician stubs
- {{Lega-politician-stub}} // Category:Lega politician stubs
- {{FI-politician-stub}} // Category:Forza Italia politician stubs
Of course, the above is just the parent templates and categories, they would be created ideally as, for example, {{Sicily-FI-politician-stub}} // Category:Sicily Five Star Movement politician stubs, as usual, but there are additional considerations before I get to that point in the sorting process.

Ancillariidae

(Note the double-i in the spelling) It is a family of snails. The stub category would be a subcategory (NOT upmerged) of a parent-only category Hypsogastropoda stubs. There would be at least 130 stubs in the Ancillariidae, mostly taken from a stub category where they are now incorrectly listed. (There will still be plenty in that other category, because there will be a lot moved from yet another category that is now invalid.) Uporządnicki (talk) 00:52, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- Just curious, which stub category are they incorrectly included in? I see that Ancillariidae-stub redirects to Gastropod-stub, which means a template wouldn't be necessary (we can just un-redirect it), so if there are sufficient Ancillariidae articles, I'll support it. Her Pegship (?) 01:37, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- They're mostly in Olividae-stubs, but thank you for bringing to my attention that there are a few stub articles for Ancillariidae species in the category for Gastropod stubs. I can't find anything--redirect or otherwise--for Ancillariidae stubs. If it's there and I've just missed it, then that certainly makes a difference. Can you help me find it? Uporządnicki (talk) 13:45, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- I found it, under Template. OK, well, if it's possible to convert it, I'd like to. It needs to be a subcategory of Hypsogastropoda stubs. And as I said, it will have at least 130 entries--mostly taken from Olividae stubs, where they are incorrectly listed. But I'll wait the prescribed time. When it does get created, moving things is going to be a fairly big job (although I've done FAR bigger). Uporządnicki (talk) 14:45, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
- And having seen no objections in 5+ days, and having plenty of stubs to populate a category, I have converted the redirected Template into a stub template, and created a category page. I'm in the process of populating it; I'm up to about 40, but there will easily be three times that many. It'll take me a few days--if things go well. Uporządnicki (talk) 16:50, 10 June 2022 (UTC)

Create as a subcategory of Category:Asterales stubs; 110 articles. 1234qwer1234qwer4 21:14, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
