Category policies

Category:Telecommunications is the top category for articles under this WikiProject. It is a subcategory of Category:Communication, which should mainly deal with social science issues.

The Category:OSI protocols should be used as a map for categories to as large extent as possible.

The Category:Wireless is for anything pertaining to the use of radio waves in telecommunications, except broadcasting, which is covered in Category:Radio .

New sub-categories

Telecommunication theory was created in August 2007. It may partly replace the old category Communication theory, which also includes social science issues.
Category:Applications of Telecommunication‎ was created in August 2007. (Partly overlapping with Category:Application layer protocols.)
Category:Redirects from telephone number was created in August 2007. This collects all country calling code redirects. Example redirect +54.
