Project milestones
edit- The project began at Category talk:The KLF with a list of current and proposed articles on 23 Feb 2006
- Between that date and May 2006, several KLF related articles were created and raised to Good Article status
- The KLF became a Featured Article on 21 May 2006
- The WikiProject was formalised in Project namespace on 21 May 2006
- Category:The KLF articles by quality was created, and conditional code added to {{WPKLF}}, by Kingboyk on 25 May 2006. We were in the first 10 WikiProjects to join the scheme; there are now over 500. [NB: That category seems to have been deleted and we are now in Category:KLF articles by quality. Goodness knows why; that might explain why WP 1.0 bot's Run the bot right away tool has an entry for both "KLF" and "The KLF"?]
- The KLF was selected for the Version 0.5 release of Wikipedia on 21 July 2006
- The KLF was named best article in the Humanities & Culture class at Wikimania 2006 (August 06)
- Fuck the Millennium became a Featured Article on 4 September 2006 (article at promotion)
- All You Need Is Love (The JAMs song) became a Featured Article on 1 October 2006 (article at promotion)
- The KLF was on the front page of Wikipedia as "Today's featured article" on 9 March 2007.

Later demotions and promotions (if any) have not been recorded. Kingboyk has recorded that as of February 2020 at least 19 KLF articles have been at GA at one time or another, including those which went from GA to FA. As of 26 February 2020, the project has only 4 FAs and 5 GAs remaining. Kingboyk is also pleased to note that WP:BEATLES - which he co-founded - has long since overtaken us (as they should) and as of March 2020 they have an astonishing 14 FAs and 132 GAs - although the FA count cheekily includes All You Need Is Love (the JAMs song) ;)
Help returning articles to their former status or newly promoting to GA or FA would be extremely welcome.
