The railroad of the El Dorado and Wesson Railway Company, herein called the carrier, consists of 10.190 miles of single-track, standard-gauge, steam railroad, extending from El Dorado to Wesson, Ark. In addition to the above main-track mileage, it owns 1.663 miles of yard tracks and sidings, making an aggregate of 11.853 miles of all tracks.


CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated September 20, 1905, for a period of 25 years, under the general laws of the State of Arkansas by articles of incorporation dated September 14, 1905. The purpose was to purchase or construct, and to equip, maintain, and operate a railroad from El Dorado to Wesson, Ark., a distance of about 10 miles.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The road owned and operated by the carrier, on the date of valuation, consisting of about 10 miles extending from El Dorado to Wesson, Ark., was constructed by its own forces during the years 1906 and 1907. It was opened for operation in November, 1907.
