Kanawha Bridge and Terminal Company

The Kanawha Bridge and Terminal Company is a noncarrier bridge corporation. Its railroad connects the carrier's [Chesapeake & Ohio] main line on the south side of the Kanawha River at Charleston with the latter's terminal facilities on the north side of the river in that city. The bridge spanning the river supports a single-track railroad and this portion of the property was on valuation date being used jointly by the carrier and the Charleston Interurban Railway Company. In addition, the carrier used the remaining trackage of the Kanawha Bridge and Terminal Company. The bridge also contained a passageway for vehicular and pedestrian traffic.

Location and General Description of Property

The carrier uses jointly with the Charleston Interurban Company and the public the property of the Kanawha Bridge and Terminal Company, consisting of 1.038 miles of single-track road in Charleston, W. Va. The carrier's portion used has been determined to be 77.54 percent.

At Charleston, W. Va., a combination highway and railroad bridge, with the approaches, extending from a connection with the tracks of the carrier on the south side of the Kanawha River, to a connection with the tracks of The Kanawha & Michigan Railway Company on the north side of the river, a distance of 1.038 miles.
