The railroad of the McKeesport Connecting Railroad Company, hereinafter called the carrier, is a standard-gauge steam-operated switching railroad, located at McKeesport, Pa. The carrier owns 2.859 miles of first main tracks, 3.065 miles of other main tracks, and 8.266 miles of yard tracks and sidings. Its road thus embraces 14.190 miles of all tracks owned and used. In addition, the carrier has trackage rights over about 7.69 miles of tracks owned by the National Tube Company, located in and about the latter company's industrial plant.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated March 20, 1889, under the general laws of Pennsylvania, for the purpose of constructing and operating a railroad from McKeesport to Port Perry, Pa.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The owned mileage of the carrier, amounting to 2.859 miles, was acquired by purchase and construction. About 2 miles was purchased from the National Tube Company on July 1, 1909, and the remainder was constructed at different periods subsequent thereto. The carrier also constructed approximately 0.60 mile of road, which it sold to the National Tube Company on July 1, 1909.
