The railroad of The Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac and the[sic] Richmond and Petersburg Railroad Connection Company, herein called the Connection Company, which is leased to and operated by the carrier, is a single-track, standard-gage, steam railroad, 1.216 miles in length, situated entirely within the city of Richmond.
- CORPORATE HISTORY
The Connection Company was incorporated March 3, 1866, by a special act of the Legislature of the State of Virginia, for the purpose of building a railroad in the city of Richmond, Va., from Byrd Street station, its connection with the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad (formerly the Richmond and Petersburg Railroad), to a connection with the carrier at a point 200 feet northwest of Elba Station, about 1.216 miles. The date of organization of the Connection Company was not determined.
