editLocation and General Description of Property
editThe railroad of Rocky Mountain and Santa Fe Railway Company, hereinafter called the Rocky Mountain and Santa Fe Railway, is a single-track line, located entirely within the State of New Mexico. Introductory
editThe Rocky Mountain and Santa Fe Railway is a corporation of the State of New Mexico, having its principal office at Raton, N. Mex. While the present name of this company is that given above, it was originally incorporated as the St. Louis, Rocky Mountain and Pacific Railway Company, which was later changed. It is controlled by the Santa Fe through ownership of the entire capital stock. On the other hand, the records reviewed indicate that this company itself does not control any other common-carrier corporation. The property of the Rocky Mountain and Santa Fe Railway was operated by its own organization from July 1, 1907, the date the road was acquired by it for operation, to June 30, 1915. Since July 1, 1915, it has been operated under lease by the Santa Fe.
Corporate History
