The railroad of the Valley Railroad Company (of Pennsylvania), hereinafter called the carrier, is a single-track standard-gauge steam railroad, located in northwestern Pennsylvania. The owned mileage consists of a main line extending southwesterly from Kushequa to Camp Halsey, with two short branches extending from Olivedale and Westline, aggregating 2.789 miles of main track.

The property of the carrier has been operated by its own organization during its entire life.

CORPORATE HISTORY

The carrier was incorporated April 25, 1901, under the general laws of the State of Pennsylvania, for the purpose of acquiring the property of the Valley Railroad Company (of 1893), which had been incorporated December 18, 1893, under the general laws of the State of Pennsylvania. The date of its organization has not been ascertained from the records reviewed. Pursuant to the above purpose, the carrier acquired at its organization the property, rights, and franchises of the corporation named.

DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED PHYSICAL PROPERTY

The road owned by the carrier, consisting of three separate pieces of road, amounting to 2.789 miles, was acquired by purchase and construction, as follows:
