New Wikipedia for Educators portal launches

edit

Are you a professor interested in using Wikipedia in your classroom, or do you know someone who is? We've created a new online portal with information that's important to educators in particular. The education portal contains reasons to use Wikipedia in the classroom, suggestions on assignment design, a sample syllabus, materials for teaching, case studies, and a way to get support. Check out the new portal today.

Wikipedia editing will be front and center at this week's Association for Psychological Sciences annual convention, as Wikipedia Ambassadors will be on-hand to guide APS members in creating user accounts and starting editing. As part of the APS Wikipedia Initiative, APS members are encouraged to improve the content of psychology articles on Wikipedia, and the initiative will have a booth in the exhibit hall where people can stop by and learn more about editing Wikipedia. Check out the home page of the APS Wikipedia Initiative.

Spring learning points document released

edit

Since the Public Policy Initiative is a pilot program, we've made concerted efforts to stop and reflect on our learning points at each step along the way. The latest of these documents has just been released. Our spring learning points document is based on interviews we've done with Ambassadors, professors, and students, especially from feedback Campus Team Coordinator Annie Lin received on a recent campus visit tour. Read the learning points.
