Welcome to the United States comics work group of the Comics WikiProject and United States WikiProject!
Scope
editThe group centers around Wikipedia articles relating to comics publishers based in the United States, and the characters, publications, fictional locales, storylines, and creators of these comics, and appearances of same in other media. Specifically, this project deals with all United States publishers other than DC and Marvel (pending creation of the proposed separate work groups for these publishers). These include all articles in the Category:Comic book publishing companies of the United States relevant to comics. Not all articles within this category will be specifically relevant to comics, however.

Resources
editFinding publication sources outside of the publisher's site can sometimes be tricky (especially when looking forthings outside the Big Two) but there are good databases:
- Grand Comic-Book Database - good breadth and depth. Templates: {{gcdb}} and {{gcdb series}}
- Comic Book DB - similar good coverage with a cleaner and more accessible front end. Template: {{comicbookdb}}
- Big Comic Book DataBase - useful as a back-up but coverage isn't as wide but it may be deeper for some titles
- CBDB - another option but a bit less user-friendly
Also for news, reviews and interviews:
- Newsarama - good for news updates and announcements as well as interviews
- Comic Book Resources - ditto
- Silver Bullet Comic Books (soon to change its name - possibly through confusion with Silver Bullet Comics - we've had problems with that see the deletion at Silver Bullet Comics) - great for finding quality reviews and they also have some useful interviews.
- Broken Frontier - can be another useful source for reviews
