A key part of having an active, effective group is increasing the member size. Here's some information on inviting members.

The entire member list can be found here.

How to find users to invite

edit
  • Look for members who have contributed to Zimbabwe-related topics. They can be high-profile topics, such as countries, leaders, or well-known places, or low-profile, like obscures places, organizations, or people.
    • Check the history log to see what sort of contributions users have made.
    • Go to talk pages. Users who comment on talk pages are more likely to be significant contributors. You can confirm this by checking their list of contributions.
  • Browse similar projects, notice boards, and portals.

How to invite

edit

Once you've found the member you wish to invite, add the following tag to his or her talk page.

{{subst:WP Zimbabwe Invitation}}

It will look like this:

It's best to add a personal note, such as mentioning an article he or she has contributed to significantly. Make sure you sign your name at the end (~~~~).

What happens next

Once the user has joined, make sure you make him or her feel welcome. All new members should receive the following on their talk pages:

{{subst:Zimbabwe Welcome}} It looks like this:

Hi, WikiProject Zimbabwe, and welcome to WikiProject
Zimbabwe
!

We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying, categorizing, and improving articles relevant to Zimbabwe. Here are some points that may be helpful:

  • Our main aim is to help improve Zimbabwe-related articles, so if people ask for help with an article, please try your hardest to help them if you are able.
  • Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
  • The project has several ongoing and developing activities, such as the current collaboration, which you are welcome to participate.
  • If you have another language besides English, please consider adding yourself to our translation section, to help us improve our foreign Zimbabwe topics.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

Again, welcome! We hope you enjoy working on this project.

Remember to sign this as well.

Good luck!
