Wikipedia:WikiProject community rehabilitation/Idea/Chat room

Maybe this will sound like a bad idea to the rest of you, or maybe it might sound too much like things we would rather not talk about. But I myself wouldn't mind seeing a wikipedia space page (or maybe as a subpage of a WikiProject) for general discussion. Maybe something like an admin noticeboard, but intended for nonjudgemental discussion, particularly where newer editors can come to ask questions, like "How do I create an article on (X)," or revise the existing article, raise questions about it, whatever. With any luck, it could be linked to in one or more of the welcome templates. There are I think enough of us that it would be watched fairly regularly, and newer editors should be able to get quick responses.

I would also hope that it would be a lot less formal or potentially uncomfortable for newcomers. Maybe some sort of preloaded subpage format might work best, or similar structure automatically creating new sections with preloaded instructions, where basically a newer editor can place a link to a page in the section title, ask a quick question about "how do I..." and get generally quicker responses to their questions? Older editors, particularly admins feeling a bit of burnout, could also use it to maybe indicate that they will be away for some time and post a link to their watchlist or place concerns about particular articles they have or whatever. I would think the page would not necessarily be bound by the same conduct guidelines as anywhere else, because sometimes venting can be useful. To a degree. A long string of obscenities would be as eligible for removal there as anywhere else. But I do think that a page with a less formal name than "Administrators' noticeboard" might be one a lot of newer editors would be less reluctant to use.
