The course explores all aspects of Lyme disease, the number 1 vector-borne disease in the US. We use the primary literature in biology to examine the ecological drivers of hosts and vectors and thus human Lyme disease risk. We also examine prevention, diagnosis, and treatment for Lyme disease in people and pets. The course also includes the biology and evolution of the microbe that causes Lyme disease and basic epidemiology.
