This course examines the history of women and gender in ancient and medieval Europe, approximately 100 BCE to 1550 CE. Students will conduct a project that involves critical analysis of Wikipedia articles on premodern women and gender as well as editing and creating Wikipedia articles on these topics. In Fall 2021 History 308 is also a Digital Arts and Humanities course that emphasizes data analysis, and will use Wikipedia articles as one of its data sets.
