This course will introduce students to issues in the production, publication, and dissemination of recent advances in health research. Students will be expected to engage in the discussion of required readings and to challenge each other to think differently about the authority of traditional formats of health information resources. Students will have an opportunity to become active producers of high-quality health information by editing and contributing to Wikipedia's medical articles with a major focus on adding reliable, high-quality, secondary sources to unverified content. They will have regular opportunities to reflect on the processes of editing, collaborating, and engaging in the Wikipedia community.
