Epigenetics is a fast moving field studying heritable changes in phenotype not caused by changes in DNA sequence, especially those involving changes to chromatin. During the course we will cover the list of proposed epigenetic factors including chemical modification to DNA and DNA-packaging proteins, and transcription apparatus, and show how all feed into gene expression profiles that dictate cell identity, phenotype and disease.
