Week 1: Editing Wikipedia

- Overview of the course
- Introduction to how Wikipedia will be used in the course
- Understanding Wikipedia as a community, we'll discuss its expectations and etiquette.

- Create an account and then complete the online training for students. During this training, you will make edits in a sandbox and learn the basic rules of Wikipedia.

Week 2: Research and Proposals
- In class - Potential article changes
In this course meeting, we'll discuss the article's deficiencies and what we can contribute to its improvement.
- In class - Proposals for changes
We will discuss the proposed changes to the article and assign sections to students.
Week 3: Research

During this week, we'll conduct the research necessary to improve our chosen article.
- Assignment - Progress report
A report describing where you are on the project, its difficulties and what remains to be done in order to finish by the due date.
Week 4: Research (cont'd)

Continuing to research and hopefully beginning to write your chosen piece of the article.
Week 5: First drafts
- Milestones
You must have something in your sandbox to show for your work.
Week 6: Final drafts due
- Assignment - Live final drafts
All final drafts must be live on the site.
