This fourth year cell biology course will focus on basic cellular structure and function. Throughout an organism’s lifetime cells must maintain a balance between growth and autophagy, and cell division and apoptosis. We will study how these states are regulated and maintained. We will look at current research on the main cellular processes and functions with an extra focus on pathways implicated in aging and age related neurodegenerative diseases.
