This theory/practice course actively explores ways of examining, understanding and embodying womxn’s voices through performance. In this course, the idea of voice is broadly conceived to include ideas of agency, self-authorship, and the expressive physical voice in life and performance. It is based on an exploration of womxn’s participation in meaning-making and knowledge production. It is designed for students and performing artists who are interested in deepening their consideration of gender through a creative exploration of the female “voice.”
