HON 235 focuses on exploring research in different disciplinary contexts. Students will learn about different research methods and techniques for finding primary and secondary sources in their field. Student will also learn project management strategies and investigate ways of communicating the results of their research.
The students' main project will be to put together a research proposal, including a literature review. As part of the literature review, we will require the students to identify Wikipedia pages related to their topics that are underdeveloped (or the absence of needed pages). We will require the students to then update these pages (or create a page) using at least five of their sources from their literature review. Because this class is open to all Honors students in any discipline, the topic of the question and related Wikipedia pages will depend and vary on each student.
