HELP ILLUSTRATE WIKIPEDIA : EVERY YEAR, PHOTOS FROM THE CONTEST SHOULD ILLUSTRATE Wikipedia articles (*) !
Wiki Loves Folklore Illustrate Wikipedia articles is being organized from 1st August to 30th September 2020. It integrates the media files, including images and videos from the main Wiki Loves Folklore project to the relevant Wikipedia articles from Category:Images from Wiki Loves Folklore 2020. This is one of the important phase to ensure the usage of the images we received in the photo contest of 2020 from 110+ countries to be used well in the related topics in encyclopedia in different languages.
How to participate
editThe images must be from Category:Images from Wiki Loves Folklore 2020. Use the image in the relevant article about Folk Culture, folklore, traditional culture, including, but not limited to folk festivals, folk dances, folk music, folk activities, folk games, folk cuisine, folk wear, folklore and tradition, including: ballads, folktales, fairy tales, legends, traditional song and dance, folk plays, seasonal events, folk arts, folk religion, mythology, etc.
Select the appropriate image from here. There are several ways to do this. See Simple media reuse guide and Here are additional tips.
On the article page, click Edit and insert the image selected in Step 3, including a brief caption in the WP's language. Check the display position in "Preview" and make any necessary changes. Then click on "Publish changes".

How to add new inspirations for more languages ?
editThe tool needed is the Glamify tool. https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Ijon/GLAMify
How it works : for a given category on Wikimedia Commons, and based on images for articles based in a source language wikipedia, suggests images for articles based on another language Wikipedia
Option 1: Go to GLAMify and follow the steps.
Option 2: Make a request just here
The process described above could be technically improved. A Phabricator task describes the needs : https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T211441
Participation to WPWP Campaign
editWikipedia Pages Wanting Photos (WPWP) is a campaign where Wikipedians across Wikipedia language projects and communities add photos to Wikipedia articles lacking images. This is to promote the use of digital media files collected from various Wikipedia photography contests, photowalks organized by the Wikimedia community, on Wikipedia article pages. Photos help to grasp the reader's attention better than a wall of text, illustrate content, and make the article more instructive and engaging for readers.
